Volunteers
Santropol Roulant is a volunteer-based organization, meaning that the goals of the organization are accomplished through the time and energy volunteered by members of our community.
Santropol Roulant volunteers are caring, dynamic, dependable, patient, motivated and self-directed people with time and energy to give. Volunteers meet new people, learn from them, share their ideas, talents and gifts with others, spend time with friends, obtain valuable skills and job experience, take part in language and cultural exchange and, most importantly, become part of an amazing community!
About our volunteers

Volunteers help out in the kitchen.
Since 1995, with the energy of 1800 volunteers, we have made over 380,000 meals and delivered them by bicycle, on foot and by car to seniors and people living with a loss of autonomy across Montreal.

Delivering a meal.
Last year alone, our volunteers contributed upwards of 15,000 hours.
Eighty percent of our volunteers are young people between the ages 15 and 35. They are students, travelers, artists, parents, in between jobs, professionals and neighbors. Some are new to Montreal, others are new to Canada. From the outset, young people have been the driving force behind Santropol Roulant's success. This is remarkable at a time when national trends show a decline in the number of young people volunteering, with the lowest rate of youth volunteerism right here in Quebec.
Santropol Roulant's meals-on-wheels service requires approximately 100 volunteers every week. In addition to the daily kitchen and delivery shifts, volunteers are helping out as board members, graphic designers, bike mechanics, event organizers, public relations consultants - in short, any way they can.
