A Vision for a Sustainable Santropol Roulant
The strong link between the health of an environment and the health of the population inhabiting it often goes unnoticed in hectic urban places where the relationship between the built environment and the ecosystem that sustains it is extremely subtle.
With a holistic vision of urban ecology, we view Santropol Roulant - our physical space, operations and meal delivery network across the city - as a link in an urban ecosystem. Our aim is to promote and nourish healthy communities overall, integrating environmental systems within Santropol Roulant's well-established routines and core mission, and demonstrating a living example of the potential for a community organization to overcome financial and institutional barriers to sustainability.
We are aiming for zero waste and minimal emissions in our operations, and engaging our entire community in our ecological initiatives. This is our vision for a sustainable urban food cycle within the Santropol Roulant community.
